1985 – Health Care for the Homeless
Care Alliance Health Center emerged as Cleveland Health Care for the Homeless, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Pew Charitable Trust.
1988 – Expanding Access to Care
Care Alliance Health Center emerged as Cleveland Health Care for the Homeless, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Pew Charitable Trust.
1993 – Care Alliance Health Center Emerges
Care Alliance became an independent 501c (3) organization with its first location in the Sidney Hillman Memorial Building on Payne Avenue.
2000 – Providing Services to People Living with HIV/AIDS
Care Alliance became an independent 501c (3) organization with its first location in the Sidney Hillman Memorial Building on Payne Avenue.
2002 – Oral Health Services
Care Alliance Health Center began its comprehensive, affordable dental care program for all ages.
2006 – State-of-the-Art Medical Care Facility
Care Alliance opened a new, state-of-the-art facility on St. Clair Avenue to increase access to care for patients experiencing homelessness.
2013 – Patient-Centered Medical Care
Care Alliance was recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Level III Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).
2014 – Physical-Behavioral Health Integration
Care Alliance adopted the physical-behavioral health integration (PBHI) model, integrating behavioral health into primary care.
2015 – Central Neighborhood Clinic & Mobile Clinic
Care Alliance opened its 30,000 square foot neighborhood health clinic in the heart of the Central Neighborhood. The building is certified by the Green Building Council as LEED Gold. Care Alliance also launched its full-service Mobile Medical Clinic.
2016 – Pharmacy Opening
Care Alliance opened an on-site, full-service pharmacy in the Central Neighborhood Clinic. The pharmacy is 340B certified and offers outpatient drugs at discounted rates to uninsured and low-income patients on a sliding fee scale.
2018 – Making Care More Accessible
Care Alliance added shuttle service between clinics and community sites to transport patients to and from clinic appointments. In 2019, Care Alliance launched the telehealth program, providing remote and virtual care for patients.
2020 – 35 Years of Care
Care Alliance celebrated 35 years of service to the Cleveland community in 2020. Despite a global pandemic, Care Alliance remained open to provide primary medical, dental, and behavioral health services to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
